Eagles and Near Effortless Flight

But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” – Isaiah 40:31

While conducting aerodynamic research on birds in the wind tunnel of the University of Oklahoma in 1971, Dr. Edward Blick discovered the truth of this verse

  • The eagle has six slotted feathers at the tip of each wing which curve upward in gliding flights
  • Wind tunnel measurements show these upward-curved slotted-tip feathers reduce the size of the vortex emanating from each wing tip
  • This reduces the drag on the wings, allowing the eagles to soar large distances in air currents without the need to beat his wings 1
  • Twenty-seven hundred  years after this scripture in Isaiah was written, science discovered the same truth

The Bible is accurate in its ornithology
