I just got back from preaching for a week of Senior Teen camp (June 2nd thru 7th) at Horton Haven in Lewisburg, Tennessee. There was a very good turn out with 71 campers in attendance. Horton Haven’s theme for the summer is based on Philippians 3: 14 – “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus”. The goal of the Christian life is to be conformed to the Image of God’s Son; the prize is that intimate knowledge of Christ Jesus the Lord. It’s a great theme and the camp is using the backdrop/setting of a blue ribbon fair for each camp this summer. During the messages, we looked at lessons from the life of good King Josiah (II Kings 22 and 23; II Chronicles 34 and 35).
I would appreciate your prayers as I will next be off to Greenwood Hills in Pennsylvania to speak during Congress Week (June 14th thru 21st). This camp is designed for those 16 and up through college age. Tom Irwin and Craig Shakarji will also be ministering the Word. My messages will center on apologetics as a topic.
As a reminder, we still have room if you are interested in going to Israel later this Fall. There is nothing like a trip to the Holy Land to increase understanding of Scripture and to turn its black and white pages into full-blown color. And there is no better way to get a sense of just how much evidence there is for the reliability of the Bible.
