“Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades.” John 5:2

This pool was frequented by the sick. It was believed that the first person to enter the waters after an angel stirred the pool would be healed. The pool was found in the 19th Century near the Church of St. Anne’s (one of the great acoustical buildings in the world).
The discovery of the Pool of Bethesda is yet another confirmation of the historical accuracy of the New Testament!
